Francois d’Albignac

~ 1903 - 1958

François d’Albignac was born in 1903 to a well-off French family. From 1921 to 1925, he studied at Paris’s School of Decorative Arts under Pierre Seguin, picking up awards for his drawings and watercolors. His early work captured the glamour of Paris in the 1920s—fashion, parties, the whole scene. Later, he moved near Versailles, painting villages and grand estates.

Then there’s the hidden gem: his BDSM art. Think ropes, leather, and power play, mostly from the 1940s and ‘50s. Signed and stamped, these pieces show off his talent with a dark, sexy twist. His regular art got a spotlight in 1993 at Le Carré À La Farine in Versailles. But the kinky stuff? That’s the real treasure for those in the know.

It took me some time to find them, and they are not in the best quality. Let's hope that in time more will surface and find their way towards me so I can expand the collection.
