~ Date of birth unknown
Despite the extended research I did I was unable to find any information about the illustrator Gyl Bertie or Gyl Bert, who illustrated the book Imperieuse Volupté ou l’Affolante Servitude, published in 1935 and written by Jim Galding.
One of the artworks (the last one) in the album I created for Imperieuse looks a lot like art from Wighead, other book’s written by Jim Galding were illustrated by artists like Wighead, Hageby and E.K
So the artists published for the same publisher and writer, it is always a possibility that the name Gyl Bertie was a pseudonym used by one of the mentioned artists.
Perhaps this book was a clandestine publication.
