Roger Testu

The French cartoonist Roger Testu, better known as Tetsu. He started his career as a painter and in the 1950s started drawing cartoons, while continuing to paint.

His first cartoon was published in Noir et Blanc in 1951, and he worked extensively for magazines including Le Figaro, France Dimanche, The Barber Magazine, Paris Match and Ici Paris. In 1964 he won the Grand Prix de l’humor noir.

Teslu mentioned in a press conference:
Don’t laugh. But smile. My characters are serious people who innocently put themselves in bizarre situations.
