7 albums/33 artworks – Feodor Stepanovich Rojankovsky, better known as Rojan (1891–1970), was a Russian émigré illustrator who excelled in two seemingly opposite worlds: the gentle, colorful illustrations for children’s books and the sensual, often explicitly erotic art for adults. Born on December 24, 1891, in Mitava (present-day Jelgava, Latvia) in the Russian Empire, Rojankovsky developed a passion for drawing from an early age, particularly animals and nature. After studying at the Moscow Art Academy and serving in World War I, he emigrated via Estonia and France to the United States.
